African American Image Awards

The Hobson-Goodlow Foundation and the Tau Iota Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. proudly present the 30th Annual African American Male Image Awards & Scholarship Program, to be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM, at the University of Memphis – University Center Theatre.

Purpose:

The African American Male Image Awards & Scholarship Program was established to support college - bound African American male high school seniors while recognizing African American men in the Memphis community who exemplify Brotherhood, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. The program honors individuals who demonstrate excellence in their professions and who make meaningful contributions to their communities through service, mentorship, and leadership.

For nearly three decades, the Hobson-Goodlow Foundation and Tau Iota Sigma Alumni Chapter have remained committed to promoting positive images of African American men while investing in educational opportunity. During this time, the program has honored 139 African American men and invested more than $100,000 in scholarships supporting young men pursuing higher education.
